Escape to the South Downs
Converted in 2011, The Getaway is a self-contained studio apartment comprising a modern and spacious living area, large shower room and a sunny reception area opening on to the beautifully designed garden.
Visitors are welcome to explore the gardens, which have a private gate to the glorious countryside beyond. There is a patio exclusively for guest use, perfect for dining al fresco, to chill out with a drink, or to soak up the sun.
Alternatively, you could wander up the road to The Cock Inn, a 16th century coaching inn, offering a menu which combines food for a special occasion with value for money. The atmospheric bar with its inglenook fireplace is friendly and welcoming, and the large sunny garden is great at lunchtime.
The Getaway welcomes canine family members. The property is fully fenced as the owners have a small, very friendly dog with no road sense!
Walkers are within a short drive of the South Downs National Park, the South Downs Way and the Ashdown Forest, making this a wonderful base for walking breaks. The South East of England offers a wide variety of attractions, with the sumptuous countryside of the South Downs and the Weald on your doorstep, and London only an hour’s train ride away. Sussex offers picturesque villages, cosmopolitan towns, traditional seaside resorts, stately homes and beautiful gardens.
